Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
In honor of my mother, I made this heart-shaped carrot cake from scratch. In my dad's words, "You know Abby Jane, I wasn't really ever sure you were going to be domestic, but I think you are finally getting better at it. That's a good thing." Thanks Dad, I think. It wasn't perfect (I took them out a smidge early and one of the center's fell...but that's okay, I put that one on the bottom), but it sure did taste good! Either way, I am very thankful for my mother today and for her many lessons in the kitchen!
